The Challenge #9 - Happy Birthday

We're having a stamping party on the Stamping Forum at Two Peas in a Bucket - WSW14! (WSW stands for Worldwide Stamping Week.) Challenges are run by the members and members participate, it's a lot of fun and I have learned so many things from the Stamping Peas! One challenge happening right now is called Getting Sentimental. So that's the inspiration for this card.

This is the first time I put the Sweet Stamp Shop set "Happy Birthday" to use. I really wanted to do a subway art kind of look. I actually lined up all of the sentiments on my workspace first, then placed a large acrylic block over them so I could ink them up and stamp all at once. This ensured that I kept everything in line.

I'm pretty happy with how that turned out! Before I take the stamps off of the block, I think I'll have to ink up some more card stock with all the happy sentiments for future use.

I used The Challenge #9 sketch:
Thanks for taking a look today! If you are interested in stamping, I invite you to come over to the Two Peas Stamping Forum and see what's going on. It's a friendly group, and we invite you to jump right in with forum posts or participating in challenges! Hope to see you over there!

Paper Girls - "Vacation"

Deb has a great challenge this time at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog. She's asking us to use the title of a summer song in the title of a layout or in the journaling. I'm actually terrible at remembering song titles, so I just did some Google searches for summer songs and found lots of songs titles to sort through. "Vacation" by The Go-Go's was perfect for a recent vacay photo of my daughter, and now I seriously cannot get that song out of my head! Love it!

I used this week's Daisy #8 sketch at ScrapbookSteals.com, substituting embellies in place of the 3x4 cards.

Here's my layout:

You've got almost 3 full weeks to link up at The Paper Girls, so start humming those summer tunes and get to work!

Color Me Sweet and The Challenge

One of the fab designers for the Sweet Stamp Shop, Danni, has created a new color challenge called Color Me Sweet! Of course I had to play along. Here's the color combo we need to use:

And then I found a sketch by Leslie Croghan for The Challenge that I thought would work well for the papers and Sweet stamp I had in mind:

My card:

I heat embossed "I Love You" in gold, and then the other gold accents on the card are rub-ons by Pink Paislee. Pretty cool, right?

If you decide to play along with the Color Me Sweet Challenge, be sure to add a picture of your project to the Sweet Stamp Shop flickr page found here.

Smile

The Paper Bakery has this great sketch right now:

There are really a ton of options here, patterned paper, stamping, etc. I settled on using washi tape and vellum tape to create the horizontal strips. And then some chipboard stickers, flair, and enamel dots for the circle elements on the sketch.

This layout came together really quickly, why don't you give the sketch a try, too?

BIC #53

The Alley Way Stamps' BE Inspired Challenge (BIC #53) caught my eye again. Here's the inspiration photo:

And here's my card:

I inked up one of the border stamps from "Bitty Borders" with Memento dye inks in the colors of the rainbow. Easy, right?

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Girls - Sketch Challenge

I'm hosting the current challenge at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog, I hope you'll come over and play along! You've still got until Saturday May 31st to link up your project.

Use this SKETCH to create a paper crafting project - layout, card, mixed media canvas, whatever you'd like:

Here's my layout. When my daughter was 3 she was actually brave enough to go on this huge slide with her dad - TWICE!

That background paper looks like sand, don't you think? And I really enjoyed layering some stickers and flair buttons at the bottom. A fun layout calls for some fun embellishments, for sure!

So what are you waiting for? Use my sketch and come link up your project - there's a prize for a random participant!

Is that a Lion?

Last month we went on a beach vacation to Cabo… what a great way to relax for a few days. Anyways, check out this crazy picture with a lion cub, I couldn't wait to scrap it.

My layout:

I'm entering this layout into the following challenges:

Stash Challenge #14 at Scrap Our Stash
  1. Something Old: Crate Paper "Random" collection - button, brads, die cuts, rosette have all been in my stash for about 2 years.
  2. Something New: Glitz patterned papers (anchors and polka dot) have only been in my stash 2 months
  3. Something Fussy Cut: The flowers were part of a pre-made die cut, but the whole flower bunch was too large for what I wanted, so I fussy cut around the flowers I wanted to keep.
  4. Something Blue: Blue Carta Bella patterned paper

Daisy #2 sketch over at ScrapbookSteals.com:

Scrappy Friends' challenges:

Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe challenge (I used enamel dots, leaves, and a doily die cut - hope that counts!)
Still time to join in all of the challenges except for the Daisy 2 sketch, that one's from a couple weeks ago, I just didn't get it up on the blog until now.
