Trendy Triangles

I wanted to highlight one of the layouts I posted last Sunday for Sweet Stamp Shop and enter it into S.W.A.T. Drill #13, which is "Trendy Triangles".

I used the brand new Sweet set called Triangle Style. I first stamped the triangles in grey and then to add color, I sprinkled on some Mister Huey's mists and then added small embellies like brads.

As soon I created this layout I knew I wanted to try out a card with the same idea, and finally got a chance to do that last night. I stuck with the smaller triangle stamps, again in grey, then misted. I then added Heidi Swapp Color Magic hearts, coloring them with the same blue and red mist colors.

I already have an amazing recipient in mind!
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Sweet Scrappin' - Still mixing up my supplies

Today is my last Design Team post at Sweet Stamp Shop, come on over and see what I created with this homemade kit and some Sweet stamps!

This is what's left!

I'm enjoying this process of making a kit and using it up so much, that I've already counterfeited my next kit: Scraptastic Kit Club July 2013 Out on the Town.
July 2013 Out On The Town Kit

I chose this kit because I wanted to use up some of my girly colors in my stash (like PINK!), and I love how this kit mixes up black and grey with the bright pink and aqua. I surprised myself again at how well I was able to match up my supplies to the kit. (I actually have 2 of the papers). I went a little overboard on the embellies, clearly there is too much here to use on ~6 layouts, but that's ok. For me, the important thing is having the embellishment options picked out ahead of time so I don't search through my whole stash.

Paper:
2 sheets Amy Tangerine - Yes, Please
Fancy Pants - The Good Life
Teresa Collins - Sports Edition II
Crate Paper - Storyteller
Carta Bella - Alphabet Junction
4 sheets WRMK solid card stock

Embellishments:
Carta Bella Alphabet Junction and True Friends Sticker sheets
3 white Paper Studio tags
BasicGrey Mint Julep flair
BasicGrey Mint Julep die-cuts and transparencies
2 Whisker Graphics paper bags
5 American Crafts circle tags
Fancy Pants The Good Life Buttons and Chipboard
MME Follow Your Heart Buttons and Chipboard
2 MME Stella & Rose titles
WRMK Glitter Brads
Queen & Co blue ROX bling
Letter stickers - American Crafts and Lily Bee
Word stickers - Pebbles and Authentique
American Crafts journaling stickers

Whimsical Twist challenge - Sweet Summer

Whimsical Twist has a challenge up to create a summer project. You can find all the details HERE.

I created a layout of one of my favorite moments of this summer, my sweet daughter hanging out with her two lovely cousins.  I used mostly Echo Park "Everyday Eclectic" with some bits and pieces from my stash.

Can you believe summer is almost over? I think I'll save some summer pics to scrap when it starts to get cold outside.  Thanks for taking a look, you've got until August 15th to link up your own project!

Sweet Scrappin' - Mixing supplies

I'm up at the Sweet Stamp Shop blog today, come see how I mixed up my supplies to make this layout:

I used the current sketch at Timeless Twine, and added some of their pretty 'Cape Cod' twine to the layout.

See you over at the Sweet Stamp Shop!

Scrap Our Stash July 15 Challenge

Time for my next guest design post for Scrap Our Stash! The challenge this time is a Sketch + Stash challenge, so follow along with the sketch, and add this stash item: BLING!

I have the hardest time scrapping Christmas photos. But, I think I've finally figured out the problem. I need to stick with papers that are a bit muted in color, and stay away from anything over-the-top Christmas-y.  I've used two different collections on my layout: Lawn Fawn Fa-La-La and My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland. Some presents and snowflakes, and that's enough to get across that it's a Christmas layout.

And when it came to adding bling, I sprinkled some rhinestones around. I then added enamel dots (not qualifying bling, btw) for some color:
This is seriously the third time I tried to scrap these photos. I am so happy with how this layout turned out, it is going straight into my album. Thanks to SOS for such a fabulous sketch!

Happy Scrapping!

Sweet Stamp Shop - Project Life cards

I'm up at the Sweet Stamp Shop blog today, sharing some journaling and title cards that would work great for Project Life!  Head over there to see the three completely different card sets that I made.

If you are like me and don't regularly do Project Life type layouts, you can use your cards on a regular 12x12 layout! After putting together the title, journaling and photos, I just added some extra embellies like washi tape and stickers, and then some extra stamping to compliment my specific photos. Having the pre-made cards ready made everything come together quickly!

Notice how I used some Alpha Tabs to add a little more detail to the layout.

Be sure to visit the Sweet Stamp Shop blog every single day for tons of stamping inspiration.

Thanks for coming by today, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Arcade Action

I pulled out some Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook' to make this fun layout.  I used the current sketch over at The Paper Bakery (you have until July 13th to link up!).

And since this paper collection has this great neon color scheme, I'm linking up with the S.W.A.T. Challenge Blog (entries due at the end of July).

Here's my layout. The great thing about taking a 3-year old to the arcade is that she doesn't really know that you have to put money in to really 'drive' the car. She just wants to sit down, press some buttons and turn that steering wheel. Love it!!

Here's another picture so you can see those awesome sequins up close!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap Our Stash July Guest Designer

Last month I found a fabulous scrapbook challenge blog, Scrap Our Stash. I've been working hard to use up my stash this year, especially patterned papers, so I find their challenges to be the perfect way to dig into my supplies. I'm happy to be their guest designer this month!

The July 1st challenge is to use red, white, and blue, along with at least 3 premade stars from your stash. I used ScrapbookSteals.com Peridot 7 sketch and pulled paper from a variety of companies, plus some Jillibean Soup red and white stars, to create this layout:

These are just some photos of my daughter looking cute, no particular story to tell, so I left the journaling out. But there is some space under the second photo to add something later if I change my mind.

Patterned papers: Jillibean Soup, Fancy Pants, Cosmo Cricket
Stickers: Jillibean Soup, KI Memories
Canvas stars: Jillibean Soup
Arrow clips: Freckled Fawn
Washi tape: Bella Blvd.
Title letters: Pebbles
Star stamps: Sweet Stamp Shop
Date Stamp: American Crafts
Ink: Memento

I hope you'll play along at Scrap Our Stash this month!
Thank you, Brenda and Rochelle for letting me guest design for you!

Giveaway winner and 'Hands On' layout

Many thanks to everyone who entered my Giveaway this week, and a big hello and welcome to my new followers! I'm not sure what's going to happen when Google takes away Google Reader. GFC may soon disappear too, so I did add a Google+ gadget to the side of my blog, in case you'd like to follow your blogs that way.

Now for the winner of this fun stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop:

THE WINNER IS Amy#8456(TheTigersHaven)!
Congratulations! Please send me your mailing address at duffyma_1999@yahoo.com and I'll get the stamps sent out your way!

Now for a layout to share. The Scrappy Friends' Challenges were calling to me this month, I managed to complete 2 out of the 4 challenges:

Kerys ~ Recipe Challenge (use at least 3 patterned papers, washi tape and twine)
Rochelle ~ Pinspiration photo

To create my layout, I divided it into three horizontal sections(inspired by Rochelle's photo), concentrating the photos and patterned papers in the center section.
I've found that I haven't been using my 6x6 paper pads very much, so just grabbed some American Crafts 'Soho Garden' and started to layer a few papers to coordinate with my photos. I then embellished with washi tape, stickers and some buttons and twine. Pretty simple, really, but all those vibrant colors in the papers give the page a great feel.

You can find me at the Sweet Stamp Shop blog tomorrow!
Have a good weekend everyone.

Too much reading is good & DT calls

I finally got a smart phone. My little prepaid phone just wasn't cutting it anymore with constant dropped calls. I think the phone companies do it on purpose, drop the cheap phone calls so they can get you to buy a nice phone and lock you into a 2 year contract. Well, it worked. And I tell you I toughed it out for a long time. Anyways, the smart phone (let me just say it, my awesome iPhone 5) has some added perks that I didn't fully appreciate - namely the camera.  I am so loving that I can take photos whenever and wherever, without planning ahead. These are the first photos I printed, check out how well they turned out!

So I actually own library-themed paper, it's a 6x6 pad of Lawn Fawn 'Dewey Decimal', so I just used a few sheets, picking out the color scheme I wanted to concentrate on, and layered them on top of each other - no cutting! Then my next favorite part of this layout is that I finally found a use for this MME 'Stella & Rose' lamp! I'm hoping it looks like a reading lamp.

The title came from Rochelle Spears's May blog challenge to choose from particular phrases, and then the challenge at Scrap Your Story is to use mixed fonts in you title. That's the way I like to do longer titles anyways! Finally, I'll link this up at Two Peas for their Scrap Your Stash challenge to use 3 elements: washi, patterned paper and letter stickers.
 Patterned paper: Lawn Fawn
Washi tape: My Mind's Eye
Stickers: Crate Paper, Carta Bella, My Mind's Eye
Letter Stickers: American Crafts, Jillibean Soup
Stamp: Technique Tuesday
Ink: Memento

Other news to share, there are 2 awesome design team calls going on right now that you should check out:

Sweet Stamp Shop is looking for stampers to be part of a 3-month Design Team. I've really enjoyed doing a couple of 1-month DT stints with them. I promise you will love working with Nicole, too, so get that application in!

S.W.A.T. is looking to add to their Design Team, the term is for 6 months, only 2 projects a month, and all the projects are given to you up front, so you can plan ahead. Great group of ladies, and fun challenges! http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/2013/05/design-team-call.html

S.W.A.T. Drill #8 - Sketch by Becci Manies

We've got another sketch for you up at S.W.A.T. this month! This one is by Becci Manies. At first I was a little scared to try it, but it turned out to be one of my favorite layouts.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my layout. I used chipboard speech bubbles in place of the smaller photos in the sketch, and I kind of used stickers to show what was going on so decided it didn't need any journaling. Everything but the washi was from my Studio Calico Kits.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to link up at S.W.A.T. by May 28th for a chance to win this prize!

Antler Arches

This was a fun layout to make. I love this sketch at Scrap Our Stash so gave it a try:

The other SOS challenge requirement is to use at least 3 pre-made flowers from my stash, so I pulled out my BasicGrey Bloomers - I have tons of these sweet fabric flowers but have used them on very few projects. Perfect for the challenge at hand. I let the flower colors dictate the layout colors, and it all came together nicely with pieces of my December Studio Calico kits.

Since I'm using up old flowers from my stash, I also wanted to participate in the brand new challenge at Sweet Stamp Shop to Use what you have!. So I pulled out my SSS stamps, using them to decorate the white journal card pocket (Today Was) and add some arrows (Chalkboard Sign).

I forgot to take a pic of the flowers before sticking them on the layout, but here's a pic of some of the rest of the Bloomer stash:

And here's my layout:
