Trendy Triangles

I wanted to highlight one of the layouts I posted last Sunday for Sweet Stamp Shop and enter it into S.W.A.T. Drill #13, which is "Trendy Triangles".

I used the brand new Sweet set called Triangle Style. I first stamped the triangles in grey and then to add color, I sprinkled on some Mister Huey's mists and then added small embellies like brads.

As soon I created this layout I knew I wanted to try out a card with the same idea, and finally got a chance to do that last night. I stuck with the smaller triangle stamps, again in grey, then misted. I then added Heidi Swapp Color Magic hearts, coloring them with the same blue and red mist colors.

I already have an amazing recipient in mind!
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Sweet Scrappin' - Still mixing up my supplies

Today is my last Design Team post at Sweet Stamp Shop, come on over and see what I created with this homemade kit and some Sweet stamps!

This is what's left!

I'm enjoying this process of making a kit and using it up so much, that I've already counterfeited my next kit: Scraptastic Kit Club July 2013 Out on the Town.
July 2013 Out On The Town Kit

I chose this kit because I wanted to use up some of my girly colors in my stash (like PINK!), and I love how this kit mixes up black and grey with the bright pink and aqua. I surprised myself again at how well I was able to match up my supplies to the kit. (I actually have 2 of the papers). I went a little overboard on the embellies, clearly there is too much here to use on ~6 layouts, but that's ok. For me, the important thing is having the embellishment options picked out ahead of time so I don't search through my whole stash.

The Turkey Hotline set was the perfect size to make a mini-album using a Cosmo Cricket Twenty-Three Element Deck:

Here's my album cover and all of the inside pages, just ready for some fun Thanksgiving pictures to be added:

Next up, Triangle Style! Such a fun mix of different triangle sizes and styles, there are a million possibilities for this set. I thought the triangles would make for some pretty cool banners, so I paired up some Jillibean Soup patterned paper with Authentique stickers and MME zipper trim, and stamped my banners to create this card:

Ok, that's it from me! On to Step #2: Head over to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to see all 3 of the new sets and enter the GIVEAWAY, I think you're gonna like what you see!

Whimsical Twist challenge - Sweet Summer

Whimsical Twist has a challenge up to create a summer project. You can find all the details HERE.

I created a layout of one of my favorite moments of this summer, my sweet daughter hanging out with her two lovely cousins.  I used mostly Echo Park "Everyday Eclectic" with some bits and pieces from my stash.

Can you believe summer is almost over? I think I'll save some summer pics to scrap when it starts to get cold outside.  Thanks for taking a look, you've got until August 15th to link up your own project!

Sweet Scrappin' - Mixing supplies

I'm up at the Sweet Stamp Shop blog today, come see how I mixed up my supplies to make this layout:

I used the current sketch at Timeless Twine, and added some of their pretty 'Cape Cod' twine to the layout.

See you over at the Sweet Stamp Shop!

Lemonade

I was a lucky winner on The Alley Way Stamps Facebook page and they sent me a cute Lemon Squeezy stamp set! I colored the image with watercolors (I'm working on my shading, can you tell?).

The straw colors and the striped paper were inspired by the TAWS Be Inpsired Challenge #34 image here:

And I used the current sketch at Seize the Sketch:

Simple and fun - just like summer, right?
Thanks for stopping by and come join the challenges too!

Fan-Freakin-Tastic!

I've got a card today that I'm entering into 2 challenges:
I'm totally into this watercoloring thing. I still have no clue on proper shading to make my images look real, but when I get over the novelty of watercoloring stamped images, I'll move on to the shading thing. Ha!

I used watercolors to color this fan image from Sweet Stamp Shop's Spin Me set. Cut it out, pop it up on a background stamped with those fun windy arrows, and there you have it. I added a button to the fan center to bring out the yellow in the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm back tomorrow with a post for Sweet Stamp Shop.

UWYH Challenge #11

The Sweet Stamp Shop's Use What You Have Challenge #11 (UWYH) inspired me to pull out this stash of Imaginesce Sole Sisters paper and embellies.

I think I've only made one layout with this collection. I've found it a little difficult to use because most of my layouts are about a 3 year old who isn't really into purses and heels quite yet! So, great to challenge myself to use it.

First, a layout using the current sketch at The Paper Bakery Kit, no stamps on this one. I added some extra embellies from my stash, but it's mostly 'Sole Sisters'.

Second, a Thank You card for my sister. I wear really tiny size 5.5 shoes, and so does she, so she sympathizes with the hard time I have finding cute shoes. She gave me a gift certificate to DSW, and don't you know I found a cute pair of size 5.5 pumps last week! I used the retired Sweet Stamp Shop set 'Oh La La'. The full sentiment reads "Shoe shopping is a form of exercise"

Jenny, you are truly my 'Sole Sister'!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
