CAS3 - watercolor and graffiti

I've got two more Clean & Simple 3 cards to share today.

This first one is my fave because I really love anything to do with watercolors. Stamped sentiment by Sweet Stamp Shop:

And then I was going for a graffiti kind of look with this second card, all stamps also by Sweet Stamp Shop:

Thanks for taking a look, hope your week is going well!

CAS3 - Coloring

Hey everyone, another post today... I do my blogging in spurts! :)

This card uses some creative coloring presented during class. I used Faber-Castell PITT artist big brush pens to do the coloring. I love how simple this was to make, I'll have to experiment with other images and sentiments.

Want to learn how to make great cards like this one?  Check out Online Card Classes, you will not be disappointed!

BE Inspired Challenge

Here's the inspiration photo for the current BE Inspired Challenge:

I used the green and grey colors in the photo, as well as a circular shape (inspired by the bicycle wheels) to create this card:

I used 2 different stamp sets by The Alley Way Stamps, "Spell Check" and "Breakfast Club".

Thanks for stopping by!

Clean & Simple 3 - Masking

I've been taking the Clean & Simple 3 card class over at Online Card Classes. As I finish up my cards I'll try to share them here. The 11 days of class are already over, but what can I say, I'm a slow crafter :)

This card was made using a a masking technique to create a one layer card that has a layered look. I'm also entering into Casology's Week 87 Challenge, "Blush".

I die cut the frame shape with my Cricut Expression, and then I used the cut out it created and misted with Mr. Huey's. After the mist dried I stamped over the masked area with a background stamp and grey ink. Then finished it off by stamping the sentiment in grey in the middle and adding some heart pearls. The card isn't truly one layer because I did all this work on a panel and then just added it to a card stock base, but I'm ok with that.

Thanks for looking!

Paper Girls - Lucky Charms

The theme at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog for the next 2 weeks is "Lucky Charm". As I scrapped these photos of my family I realized that really they are my lucky charms, and I'm very lucky to have them both! I'm also lucky to have found this paper from the Studio Calico 'Atlantic' collection that already had these great flair buttons printed on it. I just cut out speech bubbles with my Cricut Expression to frame the photos, and then I actually popped these up on the layout with foam adhesive for some dimension. I added some more brads, flair pieces and a star charm to add to the collage of buttons already on the paper. Fun to make, and it came together really quickly.

So get to thinking about some lucky charms of your own and link up at the Paper Girls! You have until March 29th.

Have a great week!

A Christmas Layout

I don't often scrap Christmas pictures… maybe because the traditional red and green colors just are my favorites. But, I was inspired by this sketch at Scrapbooksteals.com and sorted through some Echo Park 6x6 papers and stickers from at least 2 years ago to pull my layout together.

Scrap Our Stash is also having a bunch of challenges in March, and their challenge to add a bow to a layout came out at just the right time, the bow ended up being the perfect little addition to finish off the layout.

Have a crafty weekend, everyone!

February Moodboard Inspiration

I'm really loving the moodboards over at Two Peas in a Bucket. For both January and February I created kits out of my existing scrapbook supplies based on the mood boards. And then I used those kits to make layouts during the month. I only made 2 layouts each month, but I love how they've all turned out, and I get a true sense of satisfaction whenever I mix up different manufacturers and collections like this, and use some old stash mixed with new. So, I'll continue to create my own kits each month and try to share them here.

Here was the mood board for February:

And the kit I created from it:

Paper Girls - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Kristy picked out a beautiful photo for her Photo Inspiration challenge this week! Make whatever inspires you and link up at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog!

I found the perfect stamp in my stash that reminded me of the mosaic tiles - a Hero Arts/Studio Calico background stamp made up of tiny rectangles lined up in rows. So I stamped that 2 times, added my photos, then layered my title and embellies on top of the stamped areas. Some border strips, journaling and enamel dots finish it off!

Supplies:
Paper and embellies: Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste
Enamel dots: Basic Grey
Background stamp: Hero Arts/Studio Calico
Ink: Hero Arts shadow ink
Letter stickers: American Crafts and Pebbles
